Good Morning

Good Morning

I woke myself up at 8 o’clock today after not going to bed before 1 am yesterday. Guess I have a timer inside of me because I always seem to wake up at the same time. I just made some porridge and starting to write my todo list in my head. I can’t remember the last time I woke up and had nothing to do. But it feels great to get the day started early and having lots of time to do what needs to be done.

23rd May

Maybe I’ll find myself to the shopping center as well. I’m really starting to feel the need to buy something new. We shall see. Now I’m off making my way down the list, starting with you! Stay tuned for a recipe coming soon.

My journay through 2013

My journay through 2013

I thought I’d do a throwback since I have some time on my hands I want to take a trip to memory land and remember what made 2013 so special. So let’s go back to the beginning..

New year’s – My family just flew home after spending the holiday’s in the cold north. And as new years snok upon us I had big hopes and expectations. And on that very night on new years I knew that 2013 would be great.

When you find your other half – After passing February 14th I found out that my long-lasting crush was more than just that. I started looking forward to the end of the first half of the year and started figuring out who I wanted to be.

Getting up when your down – After spending an amazing time in Germany with my Family for 3 weeks I came home getting devastated news, or so I though at that time. I had to learn how to push myself up from my own distractions. And I wouldn’t have made it without my best friend who has been there threw it all.

1st of August – The day I was dreading but also looking forward to. This would be a new start and a way for me to get a clean slate. This was the day I started working as an intern at my hairdresser salon where I’ve been working as a extra-help for the past year. Already the first day and hour at my new job I had customers, and now when I look back I’m glad I just threw myself in it.

18th birthday – The day I’ve been waiting for since I was 8. Finally I turned 18, but I was actually dreading the last few weeks before this day. I wanted to stop time and stay 17. The though of being 18 scared me even though I knew I would get a lot more freedom. The day came and it was a total disappointment. I tried not to have any expectations but I have to say it was really hard since I turned 18 and this only happens once and is supposed to be special. The day went by just as fast as it came. And after all the waiting since I was little it wasn’t all that.

26 of September – One month after my birthday and only 3 months after I had taken my first driving lesson I stood in front of my drivers test. I past With flying colors and I finally earned a bit more freedom.

Berlin 2013 – My second trip in 2013 was to Berlin for the 4th time with my best friend. It was planned a year before but only started to sink in the week before departure. We would be alone in a different country for 5 days. We had a blast and really got to know each other more as well as the city, Berlin.

Moving back home – In the mid of October I packed up my things at my mum’s house and moved back in to my childhood home. I knew this would give me more peace and room to breath.

Perfect end to a perfect year – The last trip of the year was more of a spontaneous one that only happened 4 weeks ago. My dad and I packed up our things and flew to America, more specific Florida. We stayed there a wonderful 7 days and ended the year flying into 2014 and also home again.

Must see in Florida

Must see in Florida

The MUST SEE things in Miami and Florida. I want to share my experience of all the good things and worth wild things to see in Florida. Only the important pieces of my journey will be posted here so therefore I will leave out all the unnecessary information. But if you’d like to hear about the motels, the not so good tourist tour and the non-highlights of the trip just leave a comment below.

Sighseeing:

  • Key West – Florida
  • If your going to Florida, Key West is a place you’d defiantly would want to see. You can take a day trip down there or stay there like we did. The trip down was so beautiful with water on each side while you drive over bridge after bridge passing a few “towns” on the way. Down at Key West you defiantly have to check out the beaches, no question asked. They also have some stores in town, but it’s mostly turistifide. You can also visit the southest point of America down at Key West, Hemmingway’s house, or do lots of water activity.

  • Ocean drive – South Beach
  • If you’re in Miami take a day trip out to Miami Beach. They have a huge shopping street With labels and non-labels, as well as the famous Ocean drive where there are restaurants after restaurants with live music every weekend right by hotels where famous movies where shot.

  • Miami bay side – Miami
If you’re in Miami, check out Miami’s bay side. Just by the water you’ll find bars and restaurants like the famous Hard Rock just by the harbour. You’ll also have a great view of Miami’s skyline at night. And in the light of day you can go shopping by some of the most famous boutiques or they have stands where you can buy suveneries. After that you can enjoy a refreshment at the water.

    Shopping:

  • Tanger outlet mall – Fort Myers
  • If you’re flight arrival or departure is a Fort Myers there are some great outlet malls with label stores where you can spend a whole day. I went to Tanger outlet mall where they have stores like Tommy Hilfiger, Bare Minerals or Barneys of NY and everything on sale! This is something you don’t want to miss if you’re in need of some shopping.

  • Collins Ave – Miami Beach
  • Another great Place to shop in Miami Beach is at Collins Avenue. They have all the label boutiques lined up one after the other. You’ll find stores like Victoria’s Secret, American appeal, Gucci, Armani and so on.

    Bars & resturants:

  • IHOP – International house of Pancakes
  • If you haven’t been to America and haven’t tried IHOP’s famous pancakes I’d say you defiantly should. Even though they weren’t my favorite I think it was Worth it just to see and original IHOP restaurant.

    DSC_3601

  • Off the Hookah – Miami
  • If you like to get out, go to a nightclub or just relax and smoke some shi sha or hookah as they in America Call it I would recommend you to go to Off The Hookah at Miami’s bay side. It’s right under Hard Rock with this egyptian theme. A huge room where you can site and listen to music, order a drink and smoke some shi sha.

  • Le Tub – Hollywood
  • If you’re looking for something original and an out of the ordinary restaurant you should check out Le Tub in Hollywood. They were nominated for the number one burger in America five years ago and still have the best burger in Florida. It’s so cosy and right by the water.

    Alone time

    Alone time

I finally have some peace and quit before we’re of to the next destination. It can really become too much when you’re travelling with others so it’s nice to have that quit time when it comes. We checked in to the hotel very late yesterday and are only staying here for the night. The others are off picking up the car and then we’ll probably be heading to an OUTLET and the beach.

I can’t wait to see the nature here in Florida and spend some well-earned money as well.

Now I’m off before the others come back, but I’ll be sure to update you as much as I can along the way – crossing my fingers that there will be wi-fi.

    3 favorite Christmas movies

    3 favorite Christmas movies

I’m not that huge fan of all the original Christmas movies, especially the crazy once where there is animation (except of course, The polar Express). I guess I was just raised that way and through the years I found my own Christmas must see movies, that I watch every year. On the top of that list is of course, The polar Express. It’s my absolute favorite Christmas movie of all time. It’s such brilliant movie and even though my friend mocked it yesterday while we where watching it I couldn’t care less. Nothing that anyone has ever said bad about that movie can bother me, because for me it’s the perfect Christmas movie, it’s always been and will always be the perfect Christmas movie. So now that I’ve made it clear that The polar Express is my favorite I want to talk about two other favorites.

So I watched #3 a couple of weeks ago with my father since we have a Christmas calendar on our television where we get 1 free movie throughout Christmas. Both of us have never seen 4 Christmases and it really did sound remotely fun. Even though I’ve always jumped over that movie whenever I saw it in our archive. But since it was free there could simple be no loss and no harm done. And boy did I miss out on a great movie the last couple of years. So since this movie is New to the “must see” – list I bet you it’s going to be seen next year again. It was a keeper, and hilariously funny. absolutely, and who doesn’t like Reese Witherspoon. Can’t really say much about the other actor because I quit frankly don’t adore him as much.

Now to the 2nd of must see holiday movies. And boy is this a holiday movie for the books. I love the movie The Holiday and ever since I’ve gotten my hands on the movie I couldn’t stop watching it. I do not believe I’ve gone one Christmas without watching it. Even if I have to watch it in another language, which I did. I had to watch it in German once, which was different and not the best translating but it was the best I could do then and there. It’s the most sweet and romantic Christmas love story and knocks out Love actually right from the start.

    #1 The polar Express

    #2 The holiday

    #3 Four Christmases

    No emergancy call needed

    No emergancy call needed

So I’ve been sitting on the same exact spot for the last three days. Sleeping, drinking countless cups of tea with the exception of a coffee and a hot cocoa here and there. I’ve catched up on some tv-shows but most importantly some well needed sleep. I can’t remember the last time I slept more than 9 hours in a row and for the last couple of days I’ve actually manage to sleep more than 10 hours a night and even sleep a little in the mid of day. And what I’ve noticed is that time goes by so slowly when you have absolutely nothing to do which is great because there is always something on my agenda, every single day. That’s probably why this cold came at the time when I was most exhausted from all the stress and work around me. I didn’t get enough sleep, I didn’t listen to my body and hear what it had to say and in the end non of the countless overtime helped me anything in my life.

“Take care of your body – it’s the only place you have to live in”

    Packing it in

    Packing it in

I know I still have a couple of days left till I’m off to Florida, but those who know me know that I can’t wait to pack my suitcase and get going. I often start 2 weeks beforehand. Thinking about what I would like to take with me, planning outfits, buying the last clothing or beauty articles. This time though, I must say I’ve made myself proud. My suitcase is already packed with half of it empty. I always pack too much and since I know that it’s going to be cheep in America, I’m sure that my suitcase will fill itself up along the holiday.

Since I’m only in Miami for 1 week I’ve packed light. I’ve Limited myself to 1 shorts, 2 skirts, 4 tops, and 2 long pants and sweaters for the rest of the days in Berlin when I get back.

Now I’m off to shoot a packing video, but first a sneak pick of what I’m taking. Stay tuned on YouTube for my video, MylifElizabeth

    When weekend comes

    When weekend comes

I’ve missed you so dearly, my friend. Mr. Friday, finally you’ve arrived. And even though I won’t have enough time for you today I thank you for coming because this means one more day, one more week to look forward to, and only 12 days till Christmas Eve. We’re halfway there. A year ago I would never imagen I would be where I am today. I could never believe the love, the heartache or the challenges I’ve gone through. This year, more than any other year, has passed so fast it’s hard to wrap my head around. I wish I could passe back to the begging, to where it all started. I miss the start. I miss my old friends, loved ones. They will be in my heart forever, but nevertheless I miss them deeply.

I wish so profoundly that I knew why everything happens. But I guess only time will tell. I also wish that you knew how much you mean to me. But I guess you do.

I choose to be happy, but that doesn’t mean that I am.

How would you spend your last day on earth?

How would you spend your last day on earth?

Until 6 months ago I would have said that I would find that one person that means the world to be and tell him that I love him with all my heart and I would do anything for him. Now I don’t know anymore…

What would you do if you only had 1 day left of living?

Sometimes I pray to God and ask him to give my life to someone else, someone who gives his life a meaning, a purpose. Someone that would live every day to the fullest. And in a brief second I feel my stomach tighten and my heart slowing down. And in that split second I take everything back because I don’t want to die. And I think the scariest thing in life right now is thinking about death. Espescially losing loved ones. But I’m still not living my life to the extent the way that I want to. I’m not breaking any rules or doing what I’ve always dreamed of doing. But if I knew I only had one day left I surely wouldn’t be sitting by my computer, wasting every second of my time. Because time is valuable, the most valuable thing we possess. We can’t buy time, but instead our time is pre ordered. Take your given time and make the most out of it!

But since it’s Christmas, remember how blessed you are. Tell someone you love them, smile, give your friend a hug or reach out for someone in need. But don’t let it slip away when the new year arrives, because I believe that the most giving part of life is giving back and helping others. And I promise you’ll be happy for the rest of your life.

    1st of december

    1st of december

It’s finally here. Christmas. The countdown has begun for all, at least for us children. Children of any age. You know they say that you’re not really an adult before you’re childlike? So I think this is the perfect time to be a little child again.

I have never had a great relationship with Christmas, it has always been so distant. Growing up my family and I were different from others and I always wondered why. I was jealous of all the other kids. Christmas seemed like the most magical season of the year. I will never have real Christmas spirit, but I wish I had it and every year I try to get it. Watching old and new movies, listening to Christmas music, or baking with only candles lighting up the room. I never really seem to succeed but I do have a list over great Christmas songs played from the last decade.
