This saddens my heart

This saddens my heart

I miss the nights in Ramadan. When the night falls deep into a sleep and you are alone with your Lord. I miss the feeling of completely serving my Lord with the intentions to only please Him.

It saddens my heart that for each year it seems like we lose more and more people to this dunya. Don’t feel tempted to follow the footsteps of Shaytan. He only sits on the Straight Path to send you astray. And his whispers are only filled with lies and deception.

Hold on to that last string of faith and recharge your imaan. Trust me, I know it can be hard. How tempting isn’t this world, with all it’s beautifications. But one thing is for sure; it will end and everything you have left are your deeds. So make them many and make them good. God willing, the good will overweight the bad on the day of Judgement and our faces will be shinning bright.

Troisième jour à Paris

Troisième jour à Paris

13th of March 2019 – Shopping & flying home

Our last day had come upon us. After a small breakfast we finished packing and checked out at 11.30 am. We had the whole afternoon because our flight was scheduled to 8.30 pm. We found our way out of our hotel to the nearest street and started walking. There were shops after shops and I tried to visit as many as I could. I ended up buying a black scarf and a oversized denim jacket at a Parisian shop. We also stopped to get some macrons which taste delicious.

We stopped by Zara, H&M, Mango and other high street stores before we settled for lunch at 1 pm after it started to rain. We had our last proper meal in France with success. Time flew by and before we knew it, it was time to make our way back to our hotel to gather our suitcases and head to the airport.

This getaway felt surprisingly longer than only 3 days. I guess I also had someone to look forward to seeing at home which made the departure much easier.

12th of March 2019 – The Eiffel-tower, food & rain

After an almost sleepless night we finally woke up at around 7 am. I was hoping to be able to sleep in on this mini vacation but I guess my mind and body had other plans. We were well excited to finally have a great buffet breakfast awaiting us. But we were unfortunately very surprised when all we got was 1 coffee, a glas of juice, 1/2 a baguette and 3 sweet pastries with only jam and butter as toppings. Was this a normal french breakfast? Disappointed after spending a large amount of money at this hotel with a breakfast included, we had no choice but to settle with what we got.

It was only 10 am so we decided to take a morning walk around the block. The sun was shining yet again to our delight and we were thrilled to see spring arriving. We were both starving after an hour so we sat down at a little cafe for an early lunch.

Back at the hotel I rested my feet before we decided to take an adventure to the Eiffel-tower – 6 km away. A mission to accomplish, especially at 7 months pregnant. We took our map as help and walked alongside the Seine. Halfway there we had to take a break and warm up since the wind was especially strong today. A coffee later we made our last effort to the infamous landmark.

A sight to see for sure – such a beautiful landmark to visit. Even though the top floor was closed that day, we enjoyed the view from below. After some admiration we found a restaurant – ‘Cafe Gustave‘ – where we enjoyed a well earned dinner before we took a taxi back to our hotel.

In desperate need of sleep

In desperate need of sleep

What was suppose to be a stressless evening turned out to be far from that. My own fault really, cause I always get so invested in projects I do and have zero patience with myself. I always wish that I can learn everything at once and it just works right away, but it usually never does.

Today I spent my hours from 8 pm till now in front of the computer. Actually two computers. Photoshop on one and YouTube on the other. I was determined to finish a new profile picture, channel art and a watermark.

I’m only 100% happy with the new channel art, the other two I still have to tweak and fix. Other than that I have a headache and I’m in desperate need of sleep. But I guarantee you, I’ll be laying in bed another hour before I fall asleep. At least that’s what happened last night.

Good night

I got this idea about a year ago and made an inner promise to myself that I wanted to finish it before this year is over. Never did I think that I would spend the last bits of summer trying to be a painter.

I bought some watercolor, which I’ve never used before, 3 canvases and some brushes. The first time around I actually managed to buy the wrong type of brushes which were not meant for watercolor. And getting the design onto the canvas was a whole different problem but with some good help from my talented friend we managed it.

First we scathed out the wanted design onto a piece of paper drawing lines horizontal and vertical. These same lines were also drawn onto the canvas so that it would be easier to copy it.

The biggest painting took me quite a long while to finish but I also took a week break in between. Taking a step back and not getting to sucked into your project is the key to any masterpiece. And then you can come back with fresh eyes and a new look on things.

I’m so happy with the end result, especially of the world map. This can cost up to 100 dollars online but making it yourself definitely gives you a greater appreciation of the artwork.

The paint job on the two pieces down below went relatively easy since it was a smaller canvas and not too many colors to work with.
Comment down below and guess which countries these are:

I can’t believe it’s been half a year
Time flied by like a night in disguise
One second ago I held you close
Two little feet, ten little toes
First a smile, then a laugh
Now six months later you’re rolling around
Finding your hands to your toys
Soon you’ll be able to walk and talk
While you’re growing up, we’re growing old
Stop time a little so we can be with you even more
There is no rush, so I’ll stop searching for the next milestone
And enjoy the time with our firstborn child

Colorful mind

Colorful mind

I had so many ideas for what I could write next. I the bathroom whilst brushing my teeth I came up with several ideas but I promise you I have the short-time memory of Dory. There are so many times I have to take ten steps back to figure out what was on my mind. Maybe because I have too much on my mind?

I must say it’s getting quite a challenge to mix something up on the keyboard. But somehow my fingers tip away and I always manage to click publish. When I do sit down to write a few words, I find myself scrolling down we heart it at the same time, and maybe taking one too many breaks on YouTube. On another note, I can’t believe I’ve almost hit 200 followers!! Argh, what?! So many people actually read my stuff..? Usually I just look at the pictures. I’ve been on WordPress approximately 3 years now, with the occasional one week, or month, break. But I find my way back to the writing block because I do like to have my words published. Even though it’s sometimes just clutter, I’m able to empty my mind.
