A wonderful day

The last couple of weeks have turned into a blur. All merged into one. I don’t even remember when one stops and the next one starts. I fill my day with tasks & goals so that my time won’t be left meaningless. The one thing I wish I had more of – time. Whilst I know my time is ending, the time of my children are just beginning, God willing. But that makes days like these so much more valuable.

I started my day off like I always do – enjoying a homemade breakfast with my son. Around noon I jumped in the car with my daughter to drive and pick up my friend from work. We enjoyed our afternoon outside, finding a cute cafe were we could sit and chat for a while. The day only got better when we decided to buy two baskets of strawberries and then swing by at home to get my son. Norwegian summer doesn’t last very long so when the weather is good you’ll find most people at the beach, where we also ended up. Even though it took a while to get used to the cold water, it was still nice. 

A day to remember. Now I’m hoping that my daughter will fall asleep soon so that I too can catch some Zzzz. Good night.

Before I die

As we grow older we often forget the dreams we had as little children. Dreams that never were too big for your imagination. But as you grow up you see the world for what it truly is. And you finally understand why Peter Pan never wanted to grow up. You start living a life you never saw yourself having. And those dreams once dreamed become a faded memory. But don’t forget them because they are here to make us feel invisible.

My greatest dream may be to love the love of my life till the day I die. And letting the world remember us by attaching a lock to a love bridge with our initials on it. Maybe we’ll even live in London. Have a picnic with our children in Hyde Park. Or watch the sunrise at the beach together.

And even though I’m not the most spontaneous person, I would love to buy a random ticket for a flight or throw a dart at a map and travel to that destination. Maybe even learn the language of that country fluently. And when I don’t spend all my money on traveling I would go on a shopping spree without a budge, or better yet have my own clothing line.

Right now it may seem impossible but hold on to the dreams you once dreamed.

Day 5: Stanberg

Today was an all day trip from 1 o’clock till 9 which can confirm that I’m about to fall asleep any minute. My mother, uncle and his girlfriend and I all drove to Stanberger sea which approximate is a 45 minute drive. Like yesterday the weather didn’t agree with us and the sun hardly showed up. Optimistically as I am I went in a long dress with ballerinas. It’s save to say that my feet still are cold even now under my blanket. We stopped at a ‘Beergarten’ on the way home where I got to taste Mr. Hugo – my drink after 3 months. It wasn’t worth it but it did taste good.

We ended the day with dinner at a restaurant in Peiting where I had my favorite – Käsespätzle. Now we’re all back home and waiting for tomorrow, my early birthday celebration.

Oh, and sorry for the lack of photos. I do take my camera everywhere but today I forgot my memory card. It was waiting on me in my computer when I got home. It will be remembered tomorrow though.

Day 4: Dittelhoffersee

Today’s trip went to Weilheim again where we actually wanted to have a swim/tanning day at the beach. But the sun couldn’t decide whether to come out or stay in, so after 1 short hour the trip went into the city again. I finally got my workout shoes. This time from Adidas for ‘only’ 119 €, but I did get 10 € discount. They’ll last at least 1000 km the salesman said so now I just have to start to run.

Unfortunately my camera skills didn’t come to use today other then to get one good picture..

The night went to an hour sleep in the evening, dinner and then a late night walk/run. My new shoes were absolutely amazing and really gives me the comfort I need when walking and running. I also got to see the sunset, and what a beautiful picture God paints every night. It gets me every time and I couldn’t help but to stare and of course pull out my phone and take some pictures.

Must see in Florida

The MUST SEE things in Miami and Florida. I want to share my experience of all the good things and worth wild things to see in Florida. Only the important pieces of my journey will be posted here so therefore I will leave out all the unnecessary information. But if you’d like to hear about the motels, the not so good tourist tour and the non-highlights of the trip just leave a comment below.

Sighseeing:

Key West – Florida

If your going to Florida, Key West is a place you’d defiantly would want to see. You can take a day trip down there or stay there like we did. The trip down was so beautiful with water on each side while you drive over bridge after bridge passing a few “towns” on the way. Down at Key West you defiantly have to check out the beaches, no question asked. They also have some stores in town, but it’s mostly turistifide. You can also visit the southest point of America down at Key West, Hemmingway’s house, or do lots of water activity.

Ocean drive – South Beach

If you’re in Miami take a day trip out to Miami Beach. They have a huge shopping street With labels and non-labels, as well as the famous Ocean drive where there are restaurants after restaurants with live music every weekend right by hotels where famous movies where shot.

Miami bay side – Miami
If you’re in Miami, check out Miami’s bay side. Just by the water you’ll find bars and restaurants like the famous Hard Rock just by the harbour. You’ll also have a great view of Miami’s skyline at night. And in the light of day you can go shopping by some of the most famous boutiques or they have stands where you can buy suveneries. After that you can enjoy a refreshment at the water.

Shopping:

Tanger outlet mall – Fort Myers

If you’re flight arrival or departure is a Fort Myers there are some great outlet malls with label stores where you can spend a whole day. I went to Tanger outlet mall where they have stores like Tommy Hilfiger, Bare Minerals or Barneys of NY and everything on sale! This is something you don’t want to miss if you’re in need of some shopping.

Collins Ave – Miami Beach

Another great Place to shop in Miami Beach is at Collins Avenue. They have all the label boutiques lined up one after the other. You’ll find stores like Victoria’s Secret, American appeal, Gucci, Armani and so on.

Bars & resturants:

IHOP – International house of Pancakes

If you haven’t been to America and haven’t tried IHOP’s famous pancakes I’d say you defiantly should. Even though they weren’t my favorite I think it was Worth it just to see and original IHOP restaurant.

Off the Hookah – Miami

If you like to get out, go to a nightclub or just relax and smoke some shi sha or hookah as they in America Call it I would recommend you to go to Off The Hookah at Miami’s bay side. It’s right under Hard Rock with this egyptian theme. A huge room where you can site and listen to music, order a drink and smoke some shi sha.

Le Tub – Hollywood

If you’re looking for something original and an out of the ordinary restaurant you should check out Le Tub in Hollywood. They were nominated for the number one burger in America five years ago and still have the best burger in Florida. It’s so cosy and right by the water.

Alone time

I finally have some peace and quit before we’re of to the next destination. It can really become too much when you’re travelling with others so it’s nice to have that quit time when it comes. We checked in to the hotel very late yesterday and are only staying here for the night. The others are off picking up the car and then we’ll probably be heading to an OUTLET and the beach.

I can’t wait to see the nature here in Florida and spend some well-earned money as well.

Now I’m off before the others come back, but I’ll be sure to update you as much as I can along the way – crossing my fingers that there will be wi-fi.

Miami – the magical city

Sun, beaches, blue water ocean, the outstanding nightlife, the movie stars or the rich and famous always surrounding you – nothing sounds better than that, does it? Well, I can at least say that I’m getting a happy holiday this year, in Florida!! I can not believe it, and it still hasn’t sunken in. Maybe because we just ordered our tickets, but I like more spontaneous trips, even though I wish I had a little more time working on my tan.

Going to see all the beautiful sites in Florida like Miami and Key West, the nature which probably will be breathtaking – I simple can’t wait!

Day 11: Beach & sunset

It’s safe to say that it was about 30 degrees today, that’s also why I didn’t go to the beach before 3 pm. It was so hot but so nice as well. I’m trying to charge up with as much sun as possible and enjoying every moment! In the evening I went for a walk because I wanted to see the sunset and ended the day with watching Step up 3.

Day 9: Staffelsee & ootd

Yet again the whole family made its way out to a lake. It was quit pleasant to be honest and I even went in. Had no intention to do so but it simply got to warm just sitting and boiling in the sun. Later we all went to the “beergarten” just beside the beach and had dinner. I finally got my half a liter of german beer and a nice and big “bretzln”. We’re finishing off the evening with coffee and cake in Granny’s “wintergarten”. What the rest of the evening will bring only time will tell.

Day 7: First swim

Today was a relaxed day spent at the lake in Weilheim. Still working hard on my tan and had my first swim this year. Luckey it was 22 degrees in the water so it was fine with beautiful weather! The morning went to cutting my cousins hair and the evening to be with family.
