Beautiful outdoor garden view

Beautiful outdoor garden view

Today was spend mostly outside on our beautiful self built terrace. I finally got all my flowers sorted and planted and I’m so happy with the result. Down below you can see a little sneak peak in the background. Yesterday I also put up some bird food and already this morning we saw three little birdies having their breakfast, one mother feeding her two babies. As we speak they are actually back probably getting their dinner.

I recently also purchased a self controller to take pictures with so I won’t need my self timer and stand and pose for 3-10 seconds before it goes off. Here is some of the result from the pictures I took this week.

I took these pictures a few days ago when I was going for a walk. And when I came across an empty space with no one around I had to take out my camera and put it on self timer before I started posing around by my self. Things you’ll do for a good outfit post. But I love doing it so I don’t mind at all. Besides, I’m so much more comfortable alone then when someone else takes my photos.

Today was spend with family before we came home a couple of hours ago. Now it’s time for some relaxing time and then I’ll be going to bed.

All smiles every day

All smiles every day

There is really no reason not to smile when the weekend is just around the corner. I’m spending today with family and I’m going to try to take a break from social media this weekend, except maybe posting once.. or twice.

A little outfit shoot we had the other day. Still trying to be comfortable in front of the camera again. And I’m trying out different editing styles, but I can’t really decide on what I actually like. What do you think?

My daily make-up

My daily make-up

I recently purchased some new make-up because I’m desperately trying to find the right kind of brand and shade for my skin tone. I am very fair skinned so finding something that suits me is quite difficult since almost all the foundations or concealers I’ve tried are always too dark.

I went to H&M not planning on buying anything but walked out with three new make-up products. All of them are actually meant for concealing but I’ve used them for highlighting and as a full face foundation. I thought I’d do a little review and also show you what my go-to make-up look is.

I had heard so much good things about Maybelines Anti-Age concealer and was so happy when I finally found one cause I’ve been looking for ages. I was a little disappointed when I only found two shades but I immediately took lightest one, hoping that this would in deed be light enough. I love how creamy it feels and how easy it is to apply on my skin. The only negative thing is the color. For me this is not light enough and almost looks like a sand tone on my skin. I can definitely not use this as a concealer under my eyes, but instead I use it on my forehead, my nose, chin and the bottom part of my checks.

The second concealed I bough was NYX Sculpt & Highlight Face Duo. I was pleasantly surprised when I tested this on my skin. The highlighting part is light enough for me to use under my eyes and the dark part, which at first looked too dark, is perfect to sculpt your face. A little goes a long way, and I usually use this on my cheekbones and on both sides of my nose to contour.

Lastly I bought Sleek Correct & Concealer Palette. I actually though I bought the one on the packaging but when I opened it there where too light creamy concealers and one in a powder format. Powder does not work on my skin cause it only makes me look even more dry so I was left with the other two. The lightest one, on the left, I use as a highlighter down my nose and over my upper lip. And the one in the middle I use on the corner of my eyes to cover up any redness, or even a little bit under my eyes as well if I look extremely tired. Overall, this palette is fine, I love the creamy texture, but they should have labeled it better so that you know what you are buying. I don’t really have a lot of use for it, but I guess it’s handy to take with you on the go or when you need to cover up any spots or redness.

I finish of with INGLOT Make-up Fixer (read review here) and a little mascara and I’m good to go. I hope this was somewhat beneficial for those of you looking for the right kind of make-up brand for you.

Smashbox photo finish

Smashbox photo finish

It’s time for another review, and this time I’ll be sharing my thoughts on Smashbox Photo Finish Primer. I bought this a while back at ‘Kicks’ cause I’ve been struggling with redness almost all my life, or at least since I was a teenager. It hasn’t really gone even though I use high-end skincare products daily.

I was happy to have found a primer that had a green tone to it because this, as I’m sure you know, is the complimentary color to red. Which basically means that those two colors putt together should even out my skin tone. I bought this for 260 kr, so my hopes where high.

First of the consistency is uneven and when I work it in my hands it gets clumpy and almost feels watery. Additionally I have to use a lot to even out the color of my skin, and to be honest in the end I can’t see any difference. I also noticed when I first started using this product that whenever I didn’t clean my skin afterwards, I would break out and get spots where I applied it. This usually doesn’t happen with any make-up that I’ve tried.

As you can see there is hardly any difference, if any at all. This products is an absolute waist of money and it’s safe to say I will not buy this again.

One finally attempt

One finally attempt

So I finally finished a skirt I started on making a while back. The only thing was that I made it too thigh and i was hard to move in it. Now I finally fixed it with the help from a YouTuber. She gave me the brilliant idea to make a slit in the back and sew in a triangle piece of fabric. I had some complications with the execution which made it way too frustrating to sit down and sew. I took a beat and came back to the project, but whenever I did my sewing machine would pull down the fabric and tangle it all up, making holes in it. When I noticed my machine wasn’t willing to work with my, I hand stitched the fabric but this wasn’t the optimal solution. I finally sat down yesterday for one final attempt. And to my surprise, it worked! With a new needle in the machine and a lot of patience, I finally finished it.

My machine: Husqvarna VIKING H|CLASS
Fairly simple to maneuver when you get the hang of it. I recently also looked in the manual which, to my surprise, was a huge help. I found out that I could actually do an overlook seem with the machine. It’s nothing like an actually overlook machine but it does the job, with a much nicer finish than before.

A woman in hijab

A woman in hijab

You may think I’m oppressed by the way you stare at me. That I’m not free to make my own decision. Maybe you think I’m forced to cover up my beauty.
I guess it bothers you that I choose what to show and withhold from the world. But the truth is that a veil like the hijab represents so much more then what you see.
We don’t lie or steal, drink or smoke. We think before we talk and watch our tongue.
We choose to wear it, to be among the best of people.
I hope one day you can see past my veil and see who I truly am. Because my freedom is not determined whether I show my hair or flaunt my body. And remember that the hijab represents so much more than a cover to your hair.

A good day

A good day

It’s been a long day and I can’t wait to fall into bed and have a good nights sleep, or at least a couple of hours before I have to wake up again and feed the little one.

Yesterday was filled with tears and a lot of comfort after a painful vaccine shot. The little one got a fever too which didn’t make things any better. Luckily a lot of sleep and food helped with the problem. It was a tough decision to make whether or not to go through with the vaccine program. In the end we decided on one shot which we felt was more than enough for that little body.

Today on the other hand was much better. Baby was back to normal with lots of smiles and talks. We enjoyed ourself out in the sun and even took a trip to our local shopping center. With a new toy and some things for myself it’s safe to say we had a good day all together.

Skin care routine

Skin care routine

CLEANSER
Since I was sixteen I’ve loved dermalogica and have used it ever since. I started off with their ultra calming cleanser because I had the typical “teenage skin”. Dry and sensitive with a lot of redness. I used that cleanser for a while before I change over to their special cleansing gel. Since I have a combination of sensitive to dry skin I need something that is mild and dermalogica provides that for me. I also love that you can remove any make-up with their cleansers, even though I always use a face wipe beforehand.
SCRUB
I started off using their daily microfoliant that gently exfoliates any skin type. It’s rice-based powder activates with water leaving your skin smoother and brighter.
After a while though I wanted something that gave me an even deeper exfoliation. And the skin prep scrub treatment gave me exactly that. It also improves absorption of moisturizing creams and treatments. You only need a small amount and I use this once to twice a week. Preferably with an exfoliating scrub to maximize the use of the product.

FACE CREAM
After the cleanser and possible also the scrub I finish of my skin care routine with my all time favorite, the skin smoothing cream. I’ve used this since I started with the brand and haven’t found a cream better suited for my skin. It’s perfect if you have a combination/dry skin. And if I have extremely dry periods I’ve found myself using dermalogica’s intensive moisture balance cream. This is an ultra-rich moisturizer for dry skin, perfect for cold winter days.

EYE CREAM
From the age of twenty it is recommend to use an eye cream and since I’ve just had a baby and a lot of sleepless nights this is a must for me. Right now I’ve only used tester and therefor haven’t chosen one that I must have. But to apply your eye cream properly you use your ring finger which gives the least amount of pressure and gently dap a little bit under the eye and upwards towards the temples.
FullSizeRender-3
I will definitely keep on using dermalogica because this is one of my all time favorite skin care brands. It’s affordable and it lasts from 6 months to a year which is definitely worth the money.
