Worst week in my life

Worst week in my life

Ok, maybe I’m exaggerating, but I’ve not had the best 48 hours. Everything went downhill since Wednesday night and now I’m sitting here on the living room floor with the worst headache since this afternoon.

I don’t want to keep on dragging this complain wagon any longer, and I will try to look at life from a more positive way.

Even though we don’t celebrate Christmas, I do want to give something back to my family, especially my mum. And since this is a time of year where people usually meet, I ended up buying some gifts for my family.
It was most natural for me to buy something hair related since I work at a salon. So both my brothers will receive a shampoo. My oldest brother will also get a 3D puzzle I thought was so cool, maybe even something I should have bought for myself. And my brother in between will get a sports t-shirt. I still have my parents but I’ve got them covered with something.
I’m off to bed hoping to sleep away this awful headache. I have to be up, ready and back at the salon by 9 am, so good night.

In desperate need of sleep

In desperate need of sleep

What was suppose to be a stressless evening turned out to be far from that. My own fault really, cause I always get so invested in projects I do and have zero patience with myself. I always wish that I can learn everything at once and it just works right away, but it usually never does.

Today I spent my hours from 8 pm till now in front of the computer. Actually two computers. Photoshop on one and YouTube on the other. I was determined to finish a new profile picture, channel art and a watermark.

I’m only 100% happy with the new channel art, the other two I still have to tweak and fix. Other than that I have a headache and I’m in desperate need of sleep. But I guarantee you, I’ll be laying in bed another hour before I fall asleep. At least that’s what happened last night.

Good night

Wallmans

Wallmans

On the 17th my work had their annual dinner party, where we all gather to be together outside work. This year the chefs planned it all in secret and we had no idea where we were going. Being told that our bus would leave at 5 p.m and it would take about 45 minutes to get there. After some toasts the bus brought us to Wallmans. A restaurant with dinner shows and a night club. We were served shrimps and noodles with a spicy sauce as appetizer, fish with sweet potato and pork with potato, carrots and a hot sauce for the main course, and panna cotta as dessert. In between courses there were songs and dances by the waiters. A night filled with a great show, fun, food, dance and lots of wonderful people.

Friday night dinner

Friday night dinner

With a couple of days off to recharge my batteries I thought I’d share what I’ve been doing.

Since Wednesday at 1 pm I had two, almost three days off. I didn’t make any plans because work had really torn me apart and I desperately needed a break. On Friday tough, after not taking one step outside since Wednesday, I drove to my mums house for a dinner with her and my youngest brother.

We all brought food and helped to prepare it and in between the cooking I cut my mums hair. Don’t know if I just got lucky but the chicken was amazing, my own receipt that I just have to share on the blog.

We ended the night with a couple of rounds playing Uno, and I couldn’t help but to think about Oma, her favorite game.

Day 4: Key West

Today we started the day waking up unnecessary early to get breakfast at Starbucks before the rush started. Sitting outside wih our 50 dollar breakfast while tanning. Getting back to the hostel just before the pool opens and we’re ready for a swim before hitting the road.

Whiles driving over bridge after bridge, island after island only seeing water on both left and right as long as the eye can see, we arrive Key West after 4 hours in the car with only 3 stops along the way.

Unbeviebly beautiful this world but I have to say that Key West wasn’t all that.

Trashy motel rooms that are getting worse by the day. Luckily we’re only staying here for one night and then it’s of to Miami. And after a beer, one cocktail and a round of biljard hitting the bed sounded real good. And after walking home getting a bit lost at first I’m lying in the bed while Pirates of the Carribian is on in the background.

But I think the night will end soon after reading a bit of The Help.

Alone time

Alone time

I finally have some peace and quit before we’re of to the next destination. It can really become too much when you’re travelling with others so it’s nice to have that quit time when it comes. We checked in to the hotel very late yesterday and are only staying here for the night. The others are off picking up the car and then we’ll probably be heading to an OUTLET and the beach.

I can’t wait to see the nature here in Florida and spend some well-earned money as well.

Now I’m off before the others come back, but I’ll be sure to update you as much as I can along the way – crossing my fingers that there will be wi-fi.

3 favorite Christmas movies

3 favorite Christmas movies

I’m not that huge fan of all the original Christmas movies, especially the crazy once where there is animation (except of course, The polar Express). I guess I was just raised that way and through the years I found my own Christmas must see movies, that I watch every year. On the top of that list is of course, The polar Express. It’s my absolute favorite Christmas movie of all time. It’s such brilliant movie and even though my friend mocked it yesterday while we where watching it I couldn’t care less. Nothing that anyone has ever said bad about that movie can bother me, because for me it’s the perfect Christmas movie, it’s always been and will always be the perfect Christmas movie. So now that I’ve made it clear that The polar Express is my favorite I want to talk about two other favorites.

So I watched #3 a couple of weeks ago with my father since we have a Christmas calendar on our television where we get 1 free movie throughout Christmas. Both of us have never seen 4 Christmases and it really did sound remotely fun. Even though I’ve always jumped over that movie whenever I saw it in our archive. But since it was free there could simple be no loss and no harm done. And boy did I miss out on a great movie the last couple of years. So since this movie is New to the “must see” – list I bet you it’s going to be seen next year again. It was a keeper, and hilariously funny. absolutely, and who doesn’t like Reese Witherspoon. Can’t really say much about the other actor because I quit frankly don’t adore him as much.

Now to the 2nd of must see holiday movies. And boy is this a holiday movie for the books. I love the movie The Holiday and ever since I’ve gotten my hands on the movie I couldn’t stop watching it. I do not believe I’ve gone one Christmas without watching it. Even if I have to watch it in another language, which I did. I had to watch it in German once, which was different and not the best translating but it was the best I could do then and there. It’s the most sweet and romantic Christmas love story and knocks out Love actually right from the start.

How would you spend your last day on earth?

How would you spend your last day on earth?

Until 6 months ago I would have said that I would find that one person that means the world to be and tell him that I love him with all my heart and I would do anything for him. Now I don’t know anymore…

What would you do if you only had 1 day left of living?

Sometimes I pray to God and ask him to give my life to someone else, someone who gives his life a meaning, a purpose. Someone that would live every day to the fullest. And in a brief second I feel my stomach tighten and my heart slowing down. And in that split second I take everything back because I don’t want to die. And I think the scariest thing in life right now is thinking about death. Espescially losing loved ones. But I’m still not living my life to the extent the way that I want to. I’m not breaking any rules or doing what I’ve always dreamed of doing. But if I knew I only had one day left I surely wouldn’t be sitting by my computer, wasting every second of my time. Because time is valuable, the most valuable thing we possess. We can’t buy time, but instead our time is pre ordered. Take your given time and make the most out of it!

But since it’s Christmas, remember how blessed you are. Tell someone you love them, smile, give your friend a hug or reach out for someone in need. But don’t let it slip away when the new year arrives, because I believe that the most giving part of life is giving back and helping others. And I promise you’ll be happy for the rest of your life.

1st of december

1st of december

It’s finally here. Christmas. The countdown has begun for all, at least for us children. Children of any age. You know they say that you’re not really an adult before you’re childlike? So I think this is the perfect time to be a little child again.

I have never had a great relationship with Christmas, it has always been so distant. Growing up my family and I were different from others and I always wondered why. I was jealous of all the other kids. Christmas seemed like the most magical season of the year. I will never have real Christmas spirit, but I wish I had it and every year I try to get it. Watching old and new movies, listening to Christmas music, or baking with only candles lighting up the room. I never really seem to succeed but I do have a list over great Christmas songs played from the last decade.

Miami – the magical city

Miami – the magical city

Sun, beaches, blue water ocean, the outstanding nightlife, the movie stars or the rich and famous always surrounding you – nothing sounds better than that, does it? Well, I can at least say that I’m getting a happy holiday this year, in Florida!! I can not believe it, and it still hasn’t sunken in. Maybe because we just ordered our tickets, but I like more spontaneous trips, even though I wish I had a little more time working on my tan.

Going to see all the beautiful sites in Florida like Miami and Key West, the nature which probably will be breathtaking – I simple can’t wait!
