My faith is between me and my Lord

My faith is between me and my Lord

So I just got a comment on YouTube where someone told me that I don’t dress appropriately for being a muslim and that it is not the way that Prophet Muhammad (saw – peace be upon him) said women should dress. I immediately felt attacked and after thinking twice about it I ended up deleting the comment. But here I am 5 minutes later thinking about it. That’s the thing though – it may be gone from my platform it’s still in my life.

I understand the need to comment and let people know what is right and what is wrong, but on the other hand it’s not always your place. You might think it’s your responsibility, but you have no idea how hard it is for me to not only put on the hijab but to dress modestly all together. It wasn’t before a couple of months ago that I started slowly to cover my hair. And there was no other reason than for Allah (God).
You may be raised in a muslim community or family and it might be second nature to cover all together and only where the jilbab or abaya & hijab. But for me, someone who is raised in a non-muslim family in the west, who just recently converted, it’s not easy. I have struggled so much with it to the point where I didn’t want to come near it. And you telling me that my effort is not enough is not your place.
Please think twice before you think to comment on a subject that is essentially between me and my God. At the end of the day He knows my effort and what is in my heart, and that’s all that counts.

Astaghfirullah for my past
Alhamdulillah for today
Insha’Allah for my future

I got this idea about a year ago and made an inner promise to myself that I wanted to finish it before this year is over. Never did I think that I would spend the last bits of summer trying to be a painter.

I bought some watercolor, which I’ve never used before, 3 canvases and some brushes. The first time around I actually managed to buy the wrong type of brushes which were not meant for watercolor. And getting the design onto the canvas was a whole different problem but with some good help from my talented friend we managed it.

First we scathed out the wanted design onto a piece of paper drawing lines horizontal and vertical. These same lines were also drawn onto the canvas so that it would be easier to copy it.

The biggest painting took me quite a long while to finish but I also took a week break in between. Taking a step back and not getting to sucked into your project is the key to any masterpiece. And then you can come back with fresh eyes and a new look on things.

I’m so happy with the end result, especially of the world map. This can cost up to 100 dollars online but making it yourself definitely gives you a greater appreciation of the artwork.

The paint job on the two pieces down below went relatively easy since it was a smaller canvas and not too many colors to work with.
Comment down below and guess which countries these are:

10 useful things

10 useful things

.. to know during 1st time pregnancy

  1. Water will become your new best friend. Especially since coffee probably will be off the table the first 3 months. Since week 30 I’ve been drinking up to 3 liters every day. That means more trips to the toilet, but defiantly worth it.
  2. Bigger underwear. Yes, it is bittersweet to actually go up 1 to 2 sizes, but it’s so worth it cause you’ll be more comfortable and so will your belly.underwear
  3. Have a bra without an underwire. Your boobs will hurt and grow and the worst thing is to have and underwire pinch and make it even more uncomfortable.
  4. Invest in a bra strap extender. A great alternative to not buy a completely new bra during pregnancy, especially for the first and second trimester.
  5. A heat bag is perfect for relieving some of that back pain you’ll probably get when your tummy is getting bigger and all the weight is shifted.
  6. Good shoes is a must, especially in my line of work. I need good support for my feet, and it will probably get more hurtful to walk since their is more weight on your legs and feet.shoes
  7. Your teeth and gum will get more sensitive. Already after a couple of weeks I noticed my gum starting to bleed when I was brushing my teeth, something that usually never happens. I used a soft toothbrush and was not brushing too hard, but your gum will become more fragile.
  8. Pillows for sleeping. They are your new best friends, and you don’t have to spend loads on pregnancy pillows. Just use whatever you have on your couch.
  9. Sanitary pads. I wasn’t fully aware that I would still need this during pregnancy after the fourth month. But yes, fluids do still come out of you and if you don’t want to change your underwear 2 to 3 times a day, this is a great option.
  10. Everyone will have an opinion about your belly. I’ve heard so many unnecessary comments, either you’re too small or too big, or you’ll get comments like; «You look big, have you eaten too much» or «Are you wearing all black to hide your belly». It will annoy you but just remember that you are making a life inside of you, which in it self is incredible.preg

Enjoy the journey cause it will be over before you know it.

A day at home

A day at home

Today I took a day off work, just because. I don’t feel the same drive and ambition towards my job and then it’s no point for me to work even though I get paid. Because we depend on the income of our customers to get paid, there was really no point in going to work when I only had one client today. It’s also nice to take a breather once in a while and recharge.

Ahead of me awaits breakfast, video editing and a job application. For some reason I always get nervous to personally deliver a CV, even though I talk to stranger every single day. The most important thing for me is to not think about it too much beforehand and remember that I’ve done this before.

Tips on submitting an application personally:

  • Dress in something you are comfortable in, but be presentable at the same time
  • Have all your papers ready. Most companies want to see a CV, certificate and diploma
  • Think ahead of what you want to say
  • Take x numbers of breaths
  • Greet the boss with a smile and a handshake

Whatever happens, happens. If it’s ment to be you will be called in for an interview, if not, something better awaits you!

Comment below and let me know if you have any adding tips to the list above.

Modern slave

Modern slave

We grow up in social media, searching for likes and comments. Most days fly by, time is running. Searching for followers, telling ourself we’re not alone.

Don’t you know by now, we’ve grown up listening to lies. No like or comment will follow you, cause we live to die.

We learn how to make a living, but not how to live. Run for your life till you find life, and start living again.

My home office today. I always get the couch or the bed, but I don’t mind. At least I get to update you once in a while. I know I have been neglecting to write. I don’t know where to start. Should I tell you the whole story or only put to words the ‘perfect’ picture? It’s easy to hide behind a screen, for me and for you. I still have the control but if I share it all, you will get it. You will get the control to judge me, and I don’t know if I’m ready for that.

It’s been snowing the last couple of days just when I thought winter was over. We had a green holiday but I guess winter comes every year. At least I have three days off now so I will be enjoying the snow from inside.

Find your motivation

Find your motivation

Struggling with old and bad habits?

After every season I believe you can do whatever you set your mind to. If you set yourself goals and motivation you can almost do about anything. But we’ve all been in that place where you’re just so sick of trying and trying and not seeing any results – haven’t you? I want to give you some easy tips you can use to get healthy and slender with the right tools and A LOT of motivation.

SIMPLE TIPS TO HELP YOU GET STARTED WITH A NEW AND FRESH DAY, EVERYDAY!

– Increase the amount of vegetables and reduce the amount of carbs for dinner. For me it helped to cut out all pasta, rice and unhealthy bread – this obviously doesn’t work for everyone.
– Always have a water bottle available, both at work and at home.
– Set aside 1 evening in the week where you can enjoy yourself, and feel free to reward yourself with a little dark chocolate but with at least 70 percent cocoa.
– Reduce stress and negative influences. A fit and healthy body starts with a healthy mind!

There are no quick fixes. Living healthy and working out is a lifestyle, NOT a diet.

This is me

This is me

Since I’m new on WordPress and most of you don’t know me, I thought I’d tell you a little bit about myself. I’m an ordinary teenage girl living at home, couting down the days till my 12 years of school will end. I work at a beauty salong once or twice a week, where I’m also going to start my two year long education to become a hairdresser after the summer. In my spare time I like to stay social and not to mention active. I’m also very musical as in playing guitar, singing and dancing. But above all I’m just simply in love with fashion and everything beauty related. Whenever I have a moment I also try to squeeze in making a YouTube here and there.

I hope you leave a comment & tell me what you think!
