One week ago now

One week ago now

My day started off like any other day. No pancakes or coffee in bed even though that’s the ultimate dream. I went on doing some housework and making dinner for my guests that evening.

I was greeted with flowers and a basked full of fruit. At 6pm we started eating my homemade meatballs, chicken with rise and potato salad. Everything tastes twice as good when you know how much effort you put in to it.

We continued on playing uno, heads up and ping pong. And didn’t end up saying good night before 10.30 pm. It was a lovely evening spent with wonderful people.

Fresh juice every morning

Fresh juice every morning

I haven’t been this tired in a long time and I should probably be in bed getting some rest. But I just couldn’t end today without telling you about Witt’s slow juicer.

I recently received a slow juicer which I tried out this morning with the little fruit we had left laying around. Two oranges and one kiwi made an awesome fresh juice. It’s a big machine but you can make amazing fresh juices, smoothies or even baby food. You get all your vitamins and maximum nutrition from you ingredients, and instead of blending or centrifugation the juicer cold presses the fruit and vegetables.

Now I just have to go out and buy more fruit and veggies, cause I definitely want to use this more.

Hour by hour

Hour by hour

I thought it would be fun to share how my day goes about. With that said, no day is the same, but there is usually a common thread. A lot of playing, a little sleeping and a lot of eating.

07.30 a.m. – Every day starts early when you have a four month old. I hear the little one is awake and it’s time for breakfast in bed. After a quick breakfast it’s time to wake up and change the nappy and let the day begin. Now it’s two hours of playtime while I try to eat my breakfast and occasionally check social media.

09.30 a.m. – Time for a two hour nap (hopefully). And I can sleep a couple of hours as well. The upside to waking up early is that you allow yourself a nap whenever the baby sleeps. And I generally fall asleep as quickly as the baby.

11.30 p.m. – The day begins for the second time, and after some food and a diaper change we can play again. I need some food too and that’s usually lunch. Consisting of two, or three, slices of bread and a much needed coffee. We play and I try to do some tasks in between.

2.30 p.m. – It’s time to go out, ordinarily after the baby has had some food and a change. Whether it’s a trip to the shopping center or just a stroll down the street, nevertheless it’s nice to get out of the house.

3 p.m. – After a 30 – 40 minute walk we arrive home again, often with a sleepy baby. It’s time for a snack, mostly some fruit or nuts. It’s time to think about dinner as well, always a dilemma – steak, soup or chicken?

6 p.m. – The afternoon is spent playing, eating and maybe a 30 minute nap. Dad is also home and we slowly get the baby ready for bed. Usually it’s just change into PJ’s but twice a week there is also a bath.

7 p.m. – Dinner is made and the parents can finally eat as well. The baby is getting a little bit uneasy ad we can tell it’s time to go to sleep soon.

8 p.m. – We can finally breath out and enjoy the evening for ourselves. Watching “The Flash”, sewing or reading a book, either way, enjoying the quite sound of the night.

23 p.m. – I finally fall asleep, a half hour later than what I would like, but at least I get a couple of hours of sleep before I have to feed the baby again.

Mornings are absolutely the best time of the day. You can start your day with a new beginning and a cup of coffee. There is nothing negative about mornings because you’ve had a chance to wake up again. You got another take on life, you got a second try to live. Grasp it because so many others can’t.

Treasure & embrace this day because it’s all you have!

I want to share another recipe with you, a super simple and quick smoothie. There is no excuse now for not eating fruit and greens.

You will need:

♥ 1 handfull of spinach
♥ 1 banana
♥ 1 handfull of green grapes
♥ 300 ml Kefir / Natural yogurt
♥ 1 tbls lemon juice
♥ Ice cubs

1. Mix the ice cubs first so that they get crushed.
2. Part the banana and slice the grapes into two
3. Mix everything together including the spinach and lemon juice with kefir or yogurt

This smoothie turned out creamy and tasted beyond my expectations. Absolutely worth trying, and you won’t even taste the spinach.

The best part of any day is the morning. Especially when it’s the weekend and you have all the time in the world. I took some extra time making today’s breakfast, and couldn’t help myself but to take some feel-good pictures. There is nothing better then the smell of fresh pressed coffee, having some long lost me-time.

DSC_5448Both my cat and I are located perfectly on the couch. Even though it looks like she can relax better then myself. My goal today is that I will try to take this day one minute at a time, because there is no hurry to rush. It is Sunday, and I think the last the of the week should be held close with comfort before we arise into a new week.
