Your purpose

Your purpose

Make your purpose to strive for success
Paradise where you’ll rest
And make the Angels know your name
Prayer is the only thing separating a believer from a disbeliever
Fight the urge to fall in love with this worldly life
Because it will end for each and everyone of us
No one can escape it, so you tell me; what are we striving for?
Success and recognition from strangers?
Or the supreme goal with our Creator?
Faith can be the anchor to our core belief
But often invisible to the outside world
But I carry my faith on my head every single day
And I’m never going to do it for anybody else –

– than for the purpose of saving myself from this worldly life.

A 100 days ago I gave birth to a healthy baby girl. 4920 grams and 50 cm of pure love wrapped into one tiny human being. 3 months later I can see her smiling back at me when I look at her and all of my worries fade away. The world stops for minute and it’s just us. Then the noise from the outside world start tumbling in again but that smile remains. And after 9 long months she is finally kicking her feet of joy and excitement. There is nothing more beautiful and precious than to see your children grow up right beside you. And losing either one of them would be my greatest fear.

Tomorrow will be my first day back at work since going out on maternity leave 3 weeks before my baby girl came. My head is totally ready for it but my heart is still yearning to be with my child. I’m overwhelmed with emotions and don’t really know what to focus on. But I know it will be good for me, and I’m ready to take the leap.

The first Saturday in September, 3 months after giving birth, I’m back at it, and I’m ready.

A wonderful day

A wonderful day

The last couple of weeks have turned into a blur. All merged into one. I don’t even remember when one stops and the next one starts. I fill my day with tasks & goals so that my time won’t be left meaningless. The one thing I wish I had more of – time. Whilst I know my time is ending, the time of my children are just beginning, God willing. But that makes days like these so much more valuable.

I started my day off like I always do – enjoying a homemade breakfast with my son. Around noon I jumped in the car with my daughter to drive and pick up my friend from work. We enjoyed our afternoon outside, finding a cute cafe were we could sit and chat for a while. The day only got better when we decided to buy two baskets of strawberries and then swing by at home to get my son. Norwegian summer doesn’t last very long so when the weather is good you’ll find most people at the beach, where we also ended up. Even though it took a while to get used to the cold water, it was still nice.

A day to remember. Now I’m hoping that my daughter will fall asleep soon so that I too can catch some Zzzz. Good night.

Today’s workout

Today’s workout

When you start your morning at 7 o’clock and already had your first workout before 10 o’clock you deserve a break, maybe even a mid-day nap. But before I head of to my own bed I wanted to share today’s workout with you. Sometimes it’s hard to get motivated but when you finally get that motivation grab on thigh and hold on to it.

skjermbilde-2017-03-04-kl-13-49-38

Start with a quick warm up consisting 3 exercises that you do for 1 minute x 3 sets. Continue on with 12 repetitions x 3 sets with 5 kg weighs doing walking lunges, squats and donkey kicks. I also did standing leg lifts and used a thigh toner for my inner thighs.

Finish your workout with a stretch and you’re done. Focus on one body group for each session and find out how many repetitions you’re comfortable doing. Do not overload yourself with too many exercises, rather choose a handful and do those perfectly.

First workout

First workout

It’s been a good while since I’ve put on my workout clothes and worked out. During my pregnancy I worked out two or three times. Other than that I’ve just looked after what I ate. Staying hydrated and eating healthy, moderate meals. Now that my pregnancy is over I want to start my fitness journey again.

I was a big fan of fitness centers and trained several times a week. Now that I have a baby I want to incorporate my workout routine into my stay at home mum life. Already two weeks after my delivery I felt ready to start working out gain. But all the doctors , midwifes and other mums suggested to wait at least six weeks. In the mean time you should go for long walks. So I did, but yesterday, after five weeks and one day I couldn’t wait any longer. So I browsed through my workout playlist on YouTube and did a twenty minute post natal fitness routine. This was so tough though and I could feel my body was out of shape.

Now I’m sitting on my couch struggling every time I have to get up because I’m so sore. I know tomorrow will probably be worse, but I can’t wait for my second workout. The key for me is to stay motivated and change up my workouts so that I won’t get bored and quit. After all this is a life style and not a diet.

London Eye

London Eye

This time last week we were at the airport about to go trough security. I looked back the last week and thought about what I did exactly a week ago. It’s weird how time flies by before your eyes, and the next second you blink everything has changed. We try to enjoy the moment, but somehow time doesn’t want us to and it runs through our fingers.

Last Tuesday we had a great sightseeing day in London. We slept in, had breakfast and then around noon we went for a walk through Hyde park, as per usual. At the end we took a taxi to London Eye. We exchanged our tickets and waited a while before we went on the 30 minute ride. There was a lot of wind that day but still such a beautiful day. The sun was shinning and we got to see all of London from above.

The fairies wheel went slow, enough time to enjoy the view and take lots of pictures. I actually wanted to wait till the sun was setting, but we went on a little bit too early, but it was still so pretty.

Where I left off..

Where I left off..

I’ve come to the conclusion that my post on the 10th of October was a bit premature. I most often get carried away and think bigger than big of what I’m capable of doing. But in the end I come around and try to pull up that red string and find out where I left you all.

Lately I’ve just been writing about my “planned” topics, like Music Monday, Workout Wednesday, and Fashion Friday. But I do what to get into my old routs writing about much more than those three things. Even if that’s what occupy me most of the free time I have left I have so much more I want to share. At least I think I do.

So let me start with my latest project; redecoration my room. I’ll give you a sneak pick now but look out for a room tour soon.

Find your motivation

Find your motivation

Struggling with old and bad habits?

After every season I believe you can do whatever you set your mind to. If you set yourself goals and motivation you can almost do about anything. But we’ve all been in that place where you’re just so sick of trying and trying and not seeing any results – haven’t you? I want to give you some easy tips you can use to get healthy and slender with the right tools and A LOT of motivation.

SIMPLE TIPS TO HELP YOU GET STARTED WITH A NEW AND FRESH DAY, EVERYDAY!

– Increase the amount of vegetables and reduce the amount of carbs for dinner. For me it helped to cut out all pasta, rice and unhealthy bread – this obviously doesn’t work for everyone.
– Always have a water bottle available, both at work and at home.
– Set aside 1 evening in the week where you can enjoy yourself, and feel free to reward yourself with a little dark chocolate but with at least 70 percent cocoa.
– Reduce stress and negative influences. A fit and healthy body starts with a healthy mind!

There are no quick fixes. Living healthy and working out is a lifestyle, NOT a diet.

Changes

Changes

I know, I know, I’ve been so bad at posting lately and you have no idea how guilty I feel. But (you know there’s always a but) I’m going to start making some changes. I’m going to try to juggle work, YouTube, WordPress and let us not forget living a bit better than I’ve done lately. Since I love YouTube and WordPress endlessly I forget to live a little once in a while.

I’m not going to give everything away at once but I can tell you that I am going to move soon, travel and experience some new things. I’m not going to tell you more than that, but keep coming back and you’ll get updated with the latest.

And sorry again for not posting as often! I love how much support I’ve gotten through followers and likes. I’m forever grateful – you keep me going!
