A gold cup of coffee

Yesterday was a lovely, relaxing Friday. I actually love the beginning of the weekend, starting my Friday of by listening to Surah Al-Kahf. I felt a little bit extra after filming my Sunday video so I pampered up and went out to the playground. My son loves it there and he’s become so active, wanting to walk around everywhere. After an hour there we made our way back home.

His nap was long over due so I tucked him in and started making dinner. In the evening again we made our way to his grandfather aka my father. He always starts of really shy but when he’s warmed up and used to the environment he is his own self – playing, walking and talking.

This was yesterday brunch, sipping a cup of coffee from my new gold mug. My mum wanted to spoil me a little when we were out shopping on Wednesday, and even though I actually didn’t need these cups, they looked so inviting and great for pictures. So I got two and they have both already been in use.

Today I’m thinking about talking a stroll out to the playground again but first I have to edit tomorrows video. I’ll be sharing my tips on how I lost my baby weight and how to start working out again after having a child. After that video I’m done with baby talk for a while and will be back making ‘day in the life’ or fashion/beauty related videos.

I hope you have a great weekend!

Beautiful outdoor garden view

Today was spend mostly outside on our beautiful self built terrace. I finally got all my flowers sorted and planted and I’m so happy with the result. Down below you can see a little sneak peak in the background. Yesterday I also put up some bird food and already this morning we saw three little birdies having their breakfast, one mother feeding her two babies. As we speak they are actually back probably getting their dinner.

I recently also purchased a self controller to take pictures with so I won’t need my self timer and stand and pose for 3-10 seconds before it goes off. Here is some of the result from the pictures I took this week.

New mom essentials

The sun is shining and it’s a beautiful day. I haven’t slept more than a couple of hours and I can feel my eyes tiering while I’m trying to get together a decent text for you. Somehow my brain is a little bit slow but that’s not so hard to understand with the interrupted sleep I got last night. I am determined to get this post published though and maybe even go for a walk later on. These are my six ‘must-haves’ for every new mom.

Nursing pads – this is a must! A total lifesaver if I can say so myself. You will probably be leaking when your milk arrives and these pads are necessary if you don’t want milk all over your clothes. I got mine from Jollyroom which you can wash and re-use.

Nipple cream – Personally I only needed this cream the first couple of days. Breast feeding is something your body has to get used to. There are loads of different creams you can choose from, but this did relieve some of the pain and soreness I got.

Nursing tank top – I don’t know a mum who doesn’t have this, cause it makes breast feeding even easier. You just clip down the one side of the tank top and you’ll have easy access. These tops can be bought anywhere but I got mine the cheapest at H&M.

Sanitary pads – After given birth you will bleed, a lot! So be prepared and buy a hand full of pads cause they will run out as fast as your new born baby changes diapers. Some moms have also made these padsicles which supposedly relieves even more pain.

Breast pump – This is great if you want to freeze down or save some milk for later. I got mine from Philips, even though it was pricy, it’s worth the money. I don’t know what I would do without it. It’s great when you’re out on trips and you don’t want to breast feed in public, or if your partner wants to feed the baby once in a while. A small bottle comes with it and you can choose if you want to plug it in or use batteries. You can choose three different speeds and it takes about five minutes to pump out a small bottle.

Bio oil –This was something I bought after my pregnancy but I wishI had it during as well. An oil you can use for scars, stretch marks or dry skin which I bought at my local drugstore. Just be sure to use it twice a day for three months.

At the moment

Between diaper changing and feeding there isn’t a lot of free time to what I used to be able to do in a day. I’m lucky if I’m able to get one set of laundry going and get the dishes from last night out of the way. A shower is also highly appreciated cause that’s a little ‘me time’ squeezed in to the day.

I can’t wait to get a normal routine going again but right now it’s a bit difficult cause I never know when the little one wants food. Which can vary from every hour to every three hours. Anyway, as for now I’ll count myself lucky if I get one blog post a week out, but I’m going to try my best to write more then that.
