The week that went too fast

The week that went too fast

It’s Friday again and suddenly you’re sitting alone in your house wondering how time could go by so fast. A week ago I had just gotten home from Edinburgh, but I didn’t unpack until today. I only had 3 full days with my cousin but we managed to do a whole lot in those days. I’m so glad I have the opportunity to see her once in a while because we truly have the best time together. We can talk about anything and everything, and even though we have two different faiths, we support and respect each other. I was quite nervous seeing her again because she hadn’t seen me in hijab before, expect for my videos. Thank God, she was so sweet and understand and always gave me space and time to pray.

I wanted to take a moment and throw it back to a week ago and share some fond memories we made.

Talent

I was about to upload a new cover to YouTube, but listened to it one more time and decided that I should only upload things that I really know, which is hair and beauty. That’s why I’m going to leave the song singing to others including my much more so talented cousin, Lisa. Listen to her new cover, Skinny love here.

Check out her channel for more great covers!

The day after

The day after

I don’t think I’ve ever felt this sore but I just have to say last evenings workout was great. I finally finished my interval where I run for 2 minutes and sprint for 1 minute, repeating this 10 times with a 5 minute walk after the first half of repetitions. I’ve tried this once before but my legs didn’t manage to keep up, but this time I finished it all with a total of a 30 minute run, 15 minute walk equaling 6km, burning 400 kcal in 45 minutes. The backside is that I’m extremely sore today but it’s all worth it.

3 favorite Christmas movies

3 favorite Christmas movies

I’m not that huge fan of all the original Christmas movies, especially the crazy once where there is animation (except of course, The polar Express). I guess I was just raised that way and through the years I found my own Christmas must see movies, that I watch every year. On the top of that list is of course, The polar Express. It’s my absolute favorite Christmas movie of all time. It’s such brilliant movie and even though my friend mocked it yesterday while we where watching it I couldn’t care less. Nothing that anyone has ever said bad about that movie can bother me, because for me it’s the perfect Christmas movie, it’s always been and will always be the perfect Christmas movie. So now that I’ve made it clear that The polar Express is my favorite I want to talk about two other favorites.

So I watched #3 a couple of weeks ago with my father since we have a Christmas calendar on our television where we get 1 free movie throughout Christmas. Both of us have never seen 4 Christmases and it really did sound remotely fun. Even though I’ve always jumped over that movie whenever I saw it in our archive. But since it was free there could simple be no loss and no harm done. And boy did I miss out on a great movie the last couple of years. So since this movie is New to the “must see” – list I bet you it’s going to be seen next year again. It was a keeper, and hilariously funny. absolutely, and who doesn’t like Reese Witherspoon. Can’t really say much about the other actor because I quit frankly don’t adore him as much.

Now to the 2nd of must see holiday movies. And boy is this a holiday movie for the books. I love the movie The Holiday and ever since I’ve gotten my hands on the movie I couldn’t stop watching it. I do not believe I’ve gone one Christmas without watching it. Even if I have to watch it in another language, which I did. I had to watch it in German once, which was different and not the best translating but it was the best I could do then and there. It’s the most sweet and romantic Christmas love story and knocks out Love actually right from the start.

1st of december

1st of december

It’s finally here. Christmas. The countdown has begun for all, at least for us children. Children of any age. You know they say that you’re not really an adult before you’re childlike? So I think this is the perfect time to be a little child again.

I have never had a great relationship with Christmas, it has always been so distant. Growing up my family and I were different from others and I always wondered why. I was jealous of all the other kids. Christmas seemed like the most magical season of the year. I will never have real Christmas spirit, but I wish I had it and every year I try to get it. Watching old and new movies, listening to Christmas music, or baking with only candles lighting up the room. I never really seem to succeed but I do have a list over great Christmas songs played from the last decade.

Where I left off..

Where I left off..

I’ve come to the conclusion that my post on the 10th of October was a bit premature. I most often get carried away and think bigger than big of what I’m capable of doing. But in the end I come around and try to pull up that red string and find out where I left you all.

Lately I’ve just been writing about my “planned” topics, like Music Monday, Workout Wednesday, and Fashion Friday. But I do what to get into my old routs writing about much more than those three things. Even if that’s what occupy me most of the free time I have left I have so much more I want to share. At least I think I do.

So let me start with my latest project; redecoration my room. I’ll give you a sneak pick now but look out for a room tour soon.

The great Gatsby

The great Gatsby

ENCHANTING. CHARISMATIC. BRILLIANT.

the_great_gatsby_movie-wide

“The Great Gatsby” is a dramatic movie with diverse scenes with a light on the many aspects we occupy in our life. It’s not another Hollywood movie with great shooting scenes. But it shows a different side to how people are and can be driven by love, hate or money. The greed we can get, the disire for power, for more. It’s a wonderful love story worth to watch.

We take a part of F. Scott Fitzgerald’s Long Island-set novel, where Midwesterner Nick Carraway is lured into the lavish world of his neighbor, Jay Gatsby. Soon enough, however, Carraway will see through the cracks of Gatsby’s nouveau riche existence, where obsession, madness, and tragedy await. (Source: iMDb)

Changes

Changes

I know, I know, I’ve been so bad at posting lately and you have no idea how guilty I feel. But (you know there’s always a but) I’m going to start making some changes. I’m going to try to juggle work, YouTube, WordPress and let us not forget living a bit better than I’ve done lately. Since I love YouTube and WordPress endlessly I forget to live a little once in a while.

I’m not going to give everything away at once but I can tell you that I am going to move soon, travel and experience some new things. I’m not going to tell you more than that, but keep coming back and you’ll get updated with the latest.

And sorry again for not posting as often! I love how much support I’ve gotten through followers and likes. I’m forever grateful – you keep me going!
