And yet again we have to say goodbye to you
The month were hope is restored,
and faith is recharged
We will wait patiently till you come again
Hoping we will meet you next year
Trying to take our good deeds beyond this month
And make everyday like Ramadan
I can’t help but to wonder,
who is sitting on the other side and reading my thoughts?
Is there anyone out there listening?
You may think I’m oppressed by the way you stare at me. That I’m not free to make my own decision. Maybe you think I’m forced to cover up my beauty.
I guess it bothers you that I choose what to show and withhold from the world. But the truth is that a veil like the hijab represents so much more then what you see.
We don’t lie or steal, drink or smoke. We think before we talk and watch our tongue.
We choose to wear it, to be among the best of people.
I hope one day you can see past my veil and see who I truly am. Because my freedom is not determined whether I show my hair or flaunt my body. And remember that the hijab represents so much more than a cover to your hair.
This is our last fight
We all know the ending
There is only one destination
We know what will happen
Neither the rich nor the poor get away
In the end we will all be in the same place
Whether you are a believer or not
But you can’t deny the fact
This life only lasts a short period
So don’t be fooled by the comfort of this world
Cause it’s only given to us for a brief time
Untill the term appointed by our Lord
Love – Time – Death
“We long for love, we wish we had more time, and we fear death.”
A universal connection we all share. And this relevant subject can touche anyone. Behind the movie is a sad and emotional story. But I do not want to talk about the storyline of the film, but rather what it represents and what it can teach us.
We have all lost something in our life. A loved one, a friend or maybe ourself. It’s a natural part of life but most of us would rather not speak about that vital part of life. It’s scary. And we cannot go around every day thinking that this might be our last day, but we should be more aware that it can be. Life is not fair. Some people live to see hundred years and others don’t even pass the age of six. Some die because of a disease and others of natural causes.
We don’t give life and we don’t take it, we only live it. It’s cruel and unfair this journey of life. And when it ends those who are left are the once who are hurting.
So try and find beauty in meaningful moments in a bad circumstance.
Subhan’Allah wa bihamdihi – Glory to Allah and praise Him
The most loved expression by Allah.
Whosoever recites it a hundred times during the day,
his sins are wiped away, even if they are like the foam of the sea.
(Bukhari 7:168 & Muslim 4:2071)
When we live in a world
were being ‘ugly’ is a crime
and you gotta be hot to survive
You just have to submit before
the angel of death arrives
You may think it’s ugly
or i doesn’t fit your shoes
but on the day of judgement
this wont’ be any excuse
People may tell you it’s a sign of oppression
and under a man’s command
but it’ll come a day
where everyone will be asked a question
Will you then have the answer in your right hand?
Even though hijab isn’t in style
neither on the first page on a magazine
I promise you’ll smile
because this world lasts only for awhile
and with this smile
you can walk through every mile
So dear sister, do yourself a favor
Start to fight your own Jihaad
and don’t let your last day
be the first day you wear the hijab
Sorry for my mistakes
For the time I hurt you
Sorry for my distance
For not looking past the issue
Sorry for the times I didn’t see
For the pain I made you feel
Sorry for giving you a hard time
For not giving you better
Sorry for ever doubting
Cause it’s not up to us
We were born, forced to live
Without a choice but to die
In between we choose as we desire
Without seeing the end of our time
We keep on breathing, looking past the issue
That in the morning we might be leaving
Still we act invincible
Telling ourself tomorrow will be expected
We forget that we are all here to die
Without a choice we were forced to try
Don’t waste your time with meaningless ties
In the end we’ll all be broken inside
