Troisième jour à Paris

Troisième jour à Paris

13th of March 2019 – Shopping & flying home

Our last day had come upon us. After a small breakfast we finished packing and checked out at 11.30 am. We had the whole afternoon because our flight was scheduled to 8.30 pm. We found our way out of our hotel to the nearest street and started walking. There were shops after shops and I tried to visit as many as I could. I ended up buying a black scarf and a oversized denim jacket at a Parisian shop. We also stopped to get some macrons which taste delicious.

We stopped by Zara, H&M, Mango and other high street stores before we settled for lunch at 1 pm after it started to rain. We had our last proper meal in France with success. Time flew by and before we knew it, it was time to make our way back to our hotel to gather our suitcases and head to the airport.

This getaway felt surprisingly longer than only 3 days. I guess I also had someone to look forward to seeing at home which made the departure much easier.

Like walking on a sky

Like walking on a sky

Yesterday was such a wired and difficult day for some reason. You know when you have those days when nothing will go your way. It’s like the univers is against you. My time planning isn’t on it’s strongest side either, and when I think I can manage to get ready in 15 minutes I must be dreaming.

I can’t remember the last time I slept in and since my son wakes me up at 7 am now, I defiantly have to step up my game and put my money where my month is. I can’t just keep saying things and not see them through. I’ve also been so lazy this week with my training. But luckily the day turned around yesterday when I finally got out. After a little tantrum on my side – not my proudest moment – and a lot of f-words, which I never say, the day somehow turned around.

I met up with my mum and we had a lovely afternoon out. We began our shopping trip at a café because we were all starving and then continued on with some shopping. I desperately needed new kicks, and I’ve been drooling over either Nike or Adidas for the longest time. Brands are never really my thing but with good (looking) walking shoes you can never go wrong with a original brand like Nike or Adidas. After trying on some sneakers, all in a baby pink colour, I slipped into the dusty pink Nike Air and it was like walking on a sky. I have never felt such comfort on my feet and I knew I had to get them.

After 100£ lighter we went on to the toy store before I practically ran to the hairdressers to buy a new shampoo before the stores closed. I try to change my brand every time I use up my shampoo & conditioner but I always choose volum shampoo because that’s what my scalp needs at the moment.

The next two hours we went to eat dinner before I drove my mum home. I hope the coming week will be so much better. And I’ll start right here and now & try to see some promises through that I make myself.

Valentine wishlist

Valentine wishlist

I have countless things on my wishlist. Everything from a Mac mouse to a HD camera, but since it’s valentines day soon I wanted to dive into Asos and see what I could find that I would genuinely be exited and happy to buy. Even though my saved items are much more then these 8 ones here, these will have to do for now.

You can never go wrong with a simple tee and I’ve been loving ones with slogans or writings on them. I really need to find some new ones since the 3 I have I wear on repeat. Pair it with a modest long skirt  or wide pants and you’re good to go.

I desperately need new sneakers as well and I’ve been drooling over some Adidas or Nike shoes for a while. You mostly end up paying for the name, but I do have to say they look unbelievable good.
A jumpsuit is a timeless piece and this one is high on my wish list and will probably stay there for a while because it’s way too expensive to buy. But I’m allowed to dream about it, right? And if I were to buy this suit I would maybe even pair it with a matching set of burgundy high heeled shoes – just saying.
You can never have too many night tee’s, and since mine is worn down and washed out I think I’m going to buy a new one soon and it might as well be this one. Paired with a cute heart ring to pull the romantic look all together, even though I’m just going to bed.

I hope this was inspirational. Maybe you even found something you would like to buy. I’m definitely starting to love Asos, and I don’t know why I haven’t thought about buying from them before. I just always thought they were too expensive or only had high end brands. But you can find anything on this site, from Monki or New Look to Asos White and River Island. I can’t wait to stop by again and actually get those things from my wish list to my shopping basket.

My goals for 2018

My goals for 2018

I know it’s a week until new years but I thought I would share my goals a week in advance. Since I am going traveling the first week of January and I still want to film 2-3 videos in advance, I thought I would do this now.

I always take a look back at the year I’ve had and summaries my feelings, accomplishments and travels. I will still do this at the end of the year but for now I’ve picked my brain on what I want to improve in 2018.

MY GOALS FOR 2018

1. Read the Quran every day! I did this after Ramadan and even though I just read a page or two sometimes, I sat myself down after Maghrib prayer and read. Now I’ve fallen out of my routine and only read a verse or two on my Quran app.

"The most beloved deed to Allah is the most regular and constant even though it were little." Sahih Bukhari 8/471

2. Listen to the Quran every morning. A great way to the beginning of a new day and why not start the day of right. This is something you can do while preparing breakfast, getting dressed or doing your laundry.
3. Do dhikr. Remember Allah (God) in everything you do. Say thank you for the food you have, the clean water, the job you’ve been giving, your faith, family & friends. Nothing would be possible without Allah.

Alhamdullilah - All praise to Allah
 Subhan'Allah - Glorious is Allah
Allahu Akbar - Allah is the Greatest

4. Learn Surah Al-Kahf. The 18th chapter of the Quran. A surah I’ve started to learn but then again forgotten because I don’t practice it. Insha’Allah I will learn at least the first 10 verses before Ramadan 2018.
5. Listen to Surah al-Kahf every Friday.

"If anyone learns by heart the first 10 verses of Surah al-Kahf, he will be protected from the Dajjal (Anti-Christ)." Sahih Muslim 4/1766

6. Fast Monday & Thursdays. Prophet Muhammad saw used to fast on these days because these are the days our deeds are shown to Allah.
7. Wake up for Fajr consistently on time, and also pray Tahajjud (night prayer) at least once every week.

Our Lord comes down to the nearest Heaven every night when the last third of the night remains.

8. Write a gratitude journal. A place where I can write down what I’m grateful for, what I want to improve and my accomplishments for the day.
9. Create a new video every week with bonus videos sometimes during the week. Focusing on lifestyle videos, fashion & style and beauty related videos.
10. Gain 500 subscribers on YouTube.
11. Buy a Nikon j5 to improve my video quality. Support me on Patreon if you’d like!
12. Keep a daily diary on my laptop without any filter. Somewhere I can write exactly what I’m feeling and experiencing.

I hope you continue on following my journey and let’s check off this list one by one together. Do you have anything you want to add? Leave it in the comments.

Happy holidays!

Worst week in my life

Worst week in my life

Ok, maybe I’m exaggerating, but I’ve not had the best 48 hours. Everything went downhill since Wednesday night and now I’m sitting here on the living room floor with the worst headache since this afternoon.

I don’t want to keep on dragging this complain wagon any longer, and I will try to look at life from a more positive way.

Even though we don’t celebrate Christmas, I do want to give something back to my family, especially my mum. And since this is a time of year where people usually meet, I ended up buying some gifts for my family.
It was most natural for me to buy something hair related since I work at a salon. So both my brothers will receive a shampoo. My oldest brother will also get a 3D puzzle I thought was so cool, maybe even something I should have bought for myself. And my brother in between will get a sports t-shirt. I still have my parents but I’ve got them covered with something.
I’m off to bed hoping to sleep away this awful headache. I have to be up, ready and back at the salon by 9 am, so good night.

The end of a mini holiday

The end of a mini holiday

We actually managed to get down to breakfast an hour before it closed. Which is a new record for this trip, but with my son on one arm and a plate on the other, there was just so much I could get. Luckily my mum came a few minutes later and helped us out. It’s impossible to let my son go on his own because he’ll just run off to the next stranger.
On our second day and last full day in Gothenburg we made our way to Universum. Luckily the weather was on our side and we managed to walk there without any poring rain. From 2 pm til 6 pm we stayed at this magnificent place where there were both fish, birds, and butterflies. We started off with a walk in the aquarium, before we took a coffee break and a diaper change. Late afternoon, right at my sons nap time, we made our way with him on back, into the rainforest. The air was thick and warm but after a couple of minutes you can get used to it.
That evening we stayed at the hotel and had our dinner there. We both ate pasta, mine vegetarian. After dinner we all stayed at the playing area before we went up to our room. Next morning started early at 7 am with our last breakfast and a check out at 12. We were on our way back but we took a shopping break right near the border. We weren’t home before 9.30 pm but it was totally worth it!

DIY closet door knobs

DIY closet door knobs

I finally got these crystal knobs for our bedroom closets. When we moved in here there were only these boring white ones from IKEA and I’ve thought about making it a bit more classy for a while now. I browsed through the web and found these from an interior store. You can find all kinds of unnecessary stuff there but also some really cute bits and bobs.

I love how the light catches the sparkles – it makes the whole room get a bit more class. You can find them here: Diamond knobs

Simple changes like these make my day. You don’t always have to invest in a whole new closet to get a new look.

Midweek update

Midweek update

I’m starting today off with a warm cup of lemon with honey. I woke up with a little bit of a itching throat and I do not feel like getting sick now. I have to make myself breakfast soon because my stomach does get a little bit upset if I wait too long.

Yesterday was a rainy autumn day but that didn’t stop us from going out. I got to use a new rain cover for the stroller and I came to know that I need a new rain jacket, one that is a bit bigger and longer. Something I will look for today when I’m going shopping with my mum. We walked down to our local shopping center and sat down to eat pancakes and I had one of the best frappes. The little one also got some walking shoes which will make it easier for him to practice.

Yesterday evening we all went out for pizza which was nice. It’s been a while since we’ve been out, and it was actually the first time with our son.

Today will be one of those normal days again. I’m planning on working out, maybe doing a warm up outside and then in the evening I have some alone time with my mum. Nice little surprises like these during the week is what you need once in a while.

When your living room is looking like a playground

When your living room is looking like a playground

The last couple of days have been stressful. With a little crawler here at home you have to get extra alert. But now that I’ve finally bought some baby proofing it’s safer to crawl around. I never knew how fast you could get to places when you’re on your stomach. But it’s of course fun to explore everything new around you. My living room is definitely looking like a playground and my inner neat freak is freaking out a little, but I know everything will be nice and cleaned up again in the evening.

Yesterday was just super hectic. The day started off having to drive into the city early in the morning to try and fix a passport. Luckily I’m getting mine renewed but we have to find a different solution for the little one. At least I have today off so I might go shopping and hopefully I’ll be able to film another video for you.

Here are some snapshots for this week. Don’t forget to check by my YouTube channel where I try to upload as much as possible. I’ve also ordered some new equipment from Amazon so hopefully that will arrive soon. Fingers crossed.

My daily make-up

My daily make-up

I recently purchased some new make-up because I’m desperately trying to find the right kind of brand and shade for my skin tone. I am very fair skinned so finding something that suits me is quite difficult since almost all the foundations or concealers I’ve tried are always too dark.

I went to H&M not planning on buying anything but walked out with three new make-up products. All of them are actually meant for concealing but I’ve used them for highlighting and as a full face foundation. I thought I’d do a little review and also show you what my go-to make-up look is.

I had heard so much good things about Maybelines Anti-Age concealer and was so happy when I finally found one cause I’ve been looking for ages. I was a little disappointed when I only found two shades but I immediately took lightest one, hoping that this would in deed be light enough. I love how creamy it feels and how easy it is to apply on my skin. The only negative thing is the color. For me this is not light enough and almost looks like a sand tone on my skin. I can definitely not use this as a concealer under my eyes, but instead I use it on my forehead, my nose, chin and the bottom part of my checks.

The second concealed I bough was NYX Sculpt & Highlight Face Duo. I was pleasantly surprised when I tested this on my skin. The highlighting part is light enough for me to use under my eyes and the dark part, which at first looked too dark, is perfect to sculpt your face. A little goes a long way, and I usually use this on my cheekbones and on both sides of my nose to contour.

Lastly I bought Sleek Correct & Concealer Palette. I actually though I bought the one on the packaging but when I opened it there where too light creamy concealers and one in a powder format. Powder does not work on my skin cause it only makes me look even more dry so I was left with the other two. The lightest one, on the left, I use as a highlighter down my nose and over my upper lip. And the one in the middle I use on the corner of my eyes to cover up any redness, or even a little bit under my eyes as well if I look extremely tired. Overall, this palette is fine, I love the creamy texture, but they should have labeled it better so that you know what you are buying. I don’t really have a lot of use for it, but I guess it’s handy to take with you on the go or when you need to cover up any spots or redness.

I finish of with INGLOT Make-up Fixer (read review here) and a little mascara and I’m good to go. I hope this was somewhat beneficial for those of you looking for the right kind of make-up brand for you.
