I find it extremely challenging to find modest clothing in ‘regular stores’. Either things are too short, see-through or are just not covering enough. But with a bit of smart thinking and layering, you can get there. And when retailers make it so easy that the fit is already loose and modest, well then you’re half way there already.

Use code: summer19 to get 25% off at Lindex, online and in store. Valid from 21-23.June 2018.

I can only pray and hope for better days

I can only pray and hope for better days

Today I just had the worst start to the day. I woke up at 6.30 am thinking I would lay in bed a couple of minutes more and figure out what I should wear for work. A minute later I must have fallen asleep because I abruptly woke up at 8.40 am, 20 minutes before my call time to work. Bare in mind it takes me about 30 minutes to drive to work. Jumping out of the bed in panic when I finally realized how much I overslept. Stressed out trying to contact my work I made my way to the bathroom and only managed to comb through my hair and put on some new clothes.

To say it mildly, it was a stressful day. I arrived 15 minutes late but my customer was taken good care of, but I stayed 15 minutes late until my break. I’ve been home a couple of hours now and gathered myself, spent time with my family and finally made dinner so I could eat a proper meal. The last couple of hours I’ve also been working on tomorrows video which will be up at 2 pm on my YouTube channel. Next on my shopping list is a new camera since my old Nikon doesn’t want to start. Right now I’m filming on my iPhone and trust me, I know the quality is bad.

I can only pray and hope for better days.

Life’s too short not to be doing what you love

Life’s too short not to be doing what you love

At the moment I’m sending out my resume, in deep search for a new job. When I started high school, at 16 years old, I never imagined becoming a hairdresser. I actually wanted to go design & textile and then major in sewing and designing clothes. I can’t say I regret my decision, because having a high demanded job which I can apply anywhere in the world is great. But I can’t see myself in this business for the rest of my life. I can’t see myself at my workplace because I don’t see a future there. Maybe I’m wrong, but I don’t believe I can grow into a higher position there.

Life’s too short not to be doing what you love. And it’s time to implement what I say into actions.

These pictures were taken a while back when I filmed my autumn try on haul (link). Though I won’t be wearing light pink pants anymore – I do have the same pants in a dark burgundy color which is so perfect for this time a year.

The weight of the world on my shoulders

The weight of the world on my shoulders

I’m already on my second cup of coffee which I usually never drink but today it’s absolutely nesaccary. With only 8 hours of interrupted sleep and a nap where I couldn’t even snooze off for two minutes, it’s safe to say I’m very tired. My body is so stiff and I feel this heavy weight on my shoulders. Probably a mix of stress, too little sleep and in much need of a long massage.

Having a 7 month baby is so much more work then what it was four months ago. I love every minute spent with my son, but I feel like I’m running on my last battery here. When and how I will be able to recharge will only be shown in the future. For now I wanted to share my outfit pictures I took the other day.

Beautiful outdoor garden view

Beautiful outdoor garden view

Today was spend mostly outside on our beautiful self built terrace. I finally got all my flowers sorted and planted and I’m so happy with the result. Down below you can see a little sneak peak in the background. Yesterday I also put up some bird food and already this morning we saw three little birdies having their breakfast, one mother feeding her two babies. As we speak they are actually back probably getting their dinner.

I recently also purchased a self controller to take pictures with so I won’t need my self timer and stand and pose for 3-10 seconds before it goes off. Here is some of the result from the pictures I took this week.

Inspirational colorful garden

Inspirational colorful garden

I’m sitting here on one of my four kitchen chairs looking out into the horizon. Even though my view is mostly green trees, you can see deep into the woods. And in the morning it’s especially beautiful with the sun rising from the vest.
I’m enjoying a bowl of fresh bought strawberries and a silence that only comes at night. The little one is in bed and I can finally breath out and relax a little bit more. Today was spent eventfully buying new flowers for our beautiful home built terrace. I’m no gardner since my last flowers died, all expect four. So this is my promise to take excellent care of the new once, I have to! I’m not born with green fingers but there’s always time to learn. And as soon as the terrace is done with all the decor I want it to have I’ll be the first one to show it to you. I cannot wait. Only bits and bobs left now.
On another note my creativity is sparkling like firework. I get the best ideas in the most random places, like the toilet, and I cannot wait to film ever more for you. If you don’t know already I have a YouTube channel where I try to upload once a week. I’ll also be doing more outfit posts as soon as I get the house to myself again which should be next week. I’m so excited!

I took these pictures a few days ago when I was going for a walk. And when I came across an empty space with no one around I had to take out my camera and put it on self timer before I started posing around by my self. Things you’ll do for a good outfit post. But I love doing it so I don’t mind at all. Besides, I’m so much more comfortable alone then when someone else takes my photos.

Today was spend with family before we came home a couple of hours ago. Now it’s time for some relaxing time and then I’ll be going to bed.

One finally attempt

One finally attempt

So I finally finished a skirt I started on making a while back. The only thing was that I made it too thigh and i was hard to move in it. Now I finally fixed it with the help from a YouTuber. She gave me the brilliant idea to make a slit in the back and sew in a triangle piece of fabric. I had some complications with the execution which made it way too frustrating to sit down and sew. I took a beat and came back to the project, but whenever I did my sewing machine would pull down the fabric and tangle it all up, making holes in it. When I noticed my machine wasn’t willing to work with my, I hand stitched the fabric but this wasn’t the optimal solution. I finally sat down yesterday for one final attempt. And to my surprise, it worked! With a new needle in the machine and a lot of patience, I finally finished it.

My machine: Husqvarna VIKING H|CLASS
Fairly simple to maneuver when you get the hang of it. I recently also looked in the manual which, to my surprise, was a huge help. I found out that I could actually do an overlook seem with the machine. It’s nothing like an actually overlook machine but it does the job, with a much nicer finish than before.

Review: Everyday make-up

Last week a made a ‘Everyday make-up routine’ video and this week I reviewed the products that I used.

Top 3 favorites:
♥ Loreal True Match – Vanilla 02
♥ Bare Minerals – Warmth
♥ Loreal – Volum Million Lashes

Loreal True Match foundation is one of the foundations I’ve started to love only after using it a moths. It’s easy on the skin, doesn’t clump or dry up and it lasts all day.

Bare Minerals are products I can vouch for and I’ve never been disappointed. Even though it’s more pricy, you get A LOT from the products. A rough and powder foundation you can have up to 1 year!

Loreal Volum Million Lashes is the best mascara I’ve found the last five years. It divides and lengthen your own lashes, it doesn’t clump and it lasts up to 6 months.

Grey on grey

Grey on grey

Today time ran away from me and before I knew it I had to make my way to work. Planning on posting before I left was a bit ambitious, since time never is on my side. Seems like we don’t have enough of it. But before I left I managed to shoot a couple of outfit pictures. Tried a turban style today which I have been in love with lately. Let me know if you’d like a tutorial on that style.
