It’s time for another review, and this time I’ll be sharing my thoughts on Smashbox Photo Finish Primer. I bought this a while back at ‘Kicks’ cause I’ve been struggling with redness almost all my life, or at least since I was a teenager. It hasn’t really gone even though I use high-end skincare products daily.

I was happy to have found a primer that had a green tone to it because this, as I’m sure you know, is the complimentary color to red. Which basically means that those two colors putt together should even out my skin tone. I bought this for 260 kr, so my hopes where high.

First of the consistency is uneven and when I work it in my hands it gets clumpy and almost feels watery. Additionally I have to use a lot to even out the color of my skin, and to be honest in the end I can’t see any difference. I also noticed when I first started using this product that whenever I didn’t clean my skin afterwards, I would break out and get spots where I applied it. This usually doesn’t happen with any make-up that I’ve tried.

As you can see there is hardly any difference, if any at all. This products is an absolute waist of money and it’s safe to say I will not buy this again.

Book review: How to be a Bawse

I was hesitant to buy Lilly Singh’s book because it seemed as if every YouTuber had a book release and this was yet another way to make a few bucks.
Nonetheless, against my better judgment, I bought the book. And honestly, I was pleasantly surprised.

She uses a lot of analogies to her own life and colorful metaphors to describe a scenario. There are a lot of stairs and ladders you have to climb because there are no shortcuts to success.
There are fifty short chapters which makes it easy to read, with a lot of feel good colors. The book gives you an even deeper insight to her life and her way of thinking. She writes in a way that is authentic to herself, but if you don’t know who she is, than you might find her style of writing odd.

Half way through I got the feeling that I have to do more in my 24 hours. I had this stressful feeling inside me every single day. The book does give great motivation but it’s all cramped in a couple of hundred pages and it can get a bit too much too fast.

Watching her daily vlogs I also know that not every day is productive in her life. But she’s right, we should be more productive in our life. Overall, I’m glad I bought the book, it exceeded my expectations and I will try to implement some of her life lessons in a day to day basis.

A good day

A good day

It’s been a long day and I can’t wait to fall into bed and have a good nights sleep, or at least a couple of hours before I have to wake up again and feed the little one.

Yesterday was filled with tears and a lot of comfort after a painful vaccine shot. The little one got a fever too which didn’t make things any better. Luckily a lot of sleep and food helped with the problem. It was a tough decision to make whether or not to go through with the vaccine program. In the end we decided on one shot which we felt was more than enough for that little body.

Today on the other hand was much better. Baby was back to normal with lots of smiles and talks. We enjoyed ourself out in the sun and even took a trip to our local shopping center. With a new toy and some things for myself it’s safe to say we had a good day all together.

Five years ago

Five years ago

Five years ago I was 17, turning 18 in the fall. On my way to becoming a hairdresser but dreaming of becoming a stylist. Finally having a job working part time at a salon. Trying to figure out life and finding the pieces I was missing. Searching for answers. Falling in love and getting my heart broken just to fall in love all over again. Writing a five year plan and hoping it will all come true. Planning my future, daydreaming about traveling the world for a year or two.

But my future was planned out differently than what I imagined. My dearest dream came true, and I had a family before I turned 22. I have loved and lost just to get the greatest gift of all. Seeing the other side of the world knowing what my heart really wanted. Figuring out I will never belong in this world other than for a short period of time. Now five years have gone and it’s time to move on.

2016 summary

2016 summary

At the end of every year I sit down and write down the big things that have happened the last year. It’s a great way to reflect and look back at the year I’ve had. Even though I haven’t shared a lot lately, there is a lot that has happened and I thought I’d write an overview of how my 2016 has been.

New Years Eve – A very laid-back evening with my love. We made dinner together at our first home. The power went out half way through the night but that only made it more cosy. The clock turned midnight and we watched the fireworks from our balcony.
London – From the 1st to 5th of February we travelled to England. I’ve always dreamed of going and it was a great first trip together as a couple.
May 1st – After 6 months at our new home we had to move out. We had three months to pack up our things and move.
May 18th – The day we found out that Baby #1 is on the way. A nerve-racking and exciting day with a whole lot of feelings.
1st of July – Moving day. We moved to a town 20 minutes away from our first apartment. And personally, I couldn’t be more happy. New beginnings are always nice and with an extra bedroom there would be plenty of space for our little family.
24th of August – First baby check-up, is it a boy or a girl?
26th of August – My birthday, I’m officially 21. I never in a million years thought that I would be in this place at my age. But I couldn’t be more happy.
16th to 21st of September – Lisa, my cousin from Scotland, visited. We had a lovely couple of days together with lots of shopping, sightseeing and great company.
