Sunday reminder

The difference between a believer and a disbeliever is his salah.

Little things

I can’t believe it’s been half a year
Time flied by like a night in disguise
One second ago I held you close
Two little feet, ten little toes
First a smile, then a laugh
Now six months later you’re rolling around
Finding your hands to your toys
Soon you’ll be able to walk and talk
While you’re growing up, we’re growing old
Stop time a little so we can be with you even more
There is no rush, so I’ll stop searching for the next milestone
And enjoy the time with our firstborn child

Little things

Goodbye

And yet again we have to say goodbye to you
The month were hope is restored,
and faith is recharged
We will wait patiently till you come again
Hoping we will meet you next year
Trying to take our good deeds beyond this month
And make everyday like Ramadan

A woman in hijab

You may think I’m oppressed by the way you stare at me. That I’m not free to make my own decision. Maybe you think I’m forced to cover up my beauty.
I guess it bothers you that I choose what to show and withhold from the world. But the truth is that a veil like the hijab represents so much more then what you see.
We don’t lie or steal, drink or smoke. We think before we talk and watch our tongue.
We choose to wear it, to be among the best of people.
I hope one day you can see past my veil and see who I truly am. Because my freedom is not determined whether I show my hair or flaunt my body. And remember that the hijab represents so much more than a cover to your hair.

Life

This life is short

We didn’t choose this life, it was chosen for us. We don’t decided where we are born or who our parents are, it’s chosen for us. We don’t choose our time of death or how we die, it’s all chosen for us. But everything in between is our choice. What we believe in, what friends we want to have, what soundings we want to be in, where we want to live. We are given free will and therefor also the ability to choose as we please. But don’t think for a second we won’t be accountable for the choices we make. We forget the responsibility we get with this life but the truth is that we are held accountable for the choices we make.

We don’t know how long we have on this earth but still we act as if we’re given an eternity.

Ethnicity Tag

What is your ethnicity?
Both my dad and my mom are german so that would make me 100% german. Though I was born in Sweden and never lived in Germany.
When was the last time you visited your country?
I think it was November 2014 when we all got together and said our goodbyes to my Oma. We used to visit at least once a year before that, mostly in the summer but sometimes also in the winter.
One ethnic food you love the most?
Käsespätzle without a doubt, with lots and lots of cheese.
One household item that represents your culture?
I’m not big on culture and I’ve never cared for german culture, but something that does scream Germany is maybe a Nußknacker, even though we never had one in our home, or big beer glasses.
What part of the country are you from?
Bayern – both my dad and on my mom’s side.
Can you speak the language of your ethnicity?
Yes, I can, though the grammar is still quite hard to get a hang off.

Life

At last

It seems as if it was just yesterday we were in the hospital waiting for your arrival. Two days later we were on our way home again. Now you’re seven days old and time has flown by just as I suspected. Please don’t grow up so fast! Slow down time so that I can enjoy every single moment with you.

Meeting you gave me a completely new perspective on life. And you gave me a complete meaning of the word love. Unconditional love. A bond so unbelievable strong, just between the two of us. And I hope I get to spend an infinitude together with you. I love you.
